Doubting God in Front of God | Psalm 22

We’re going to talk about doubt this morning. And about pain, and suffering, and that agonizing, debilitating feeling that maybe God has abandoned you. And we’re going to talk about what it looks like to pray through these emotions, in community, under the reign of Jesus, and in the hope of resurrection. What does it look like to doubt God faithfully? Is that even possible? Can I question God and still believe? Can I have all of these doubts and still follow Jesus faithfully? I think these are important questions to ask, and I stand before you this morning, first and foremost with good news: that I believe the answer to those questions is a resounding yes.

How to Be Human | Psalm 8

The Thing the Whole Universe is Doing

The announcement that the kingdom of God has arrived in Jesus is not just some fun trivia about the Bible; it is the kind of good news that radically reshapes a human life. Because if we have ears to hear and eyes to see the thing that the universe is doing––the way in which God has become King in Jesus and the way Jesus exercises his rule––we might just find ourselves compelled to radically rethink everything we ever thought about what it means to be human in God's good world.
